How It Started
Lake Church opened its doors on April 8th, 2007, with a vision from Pastor Greg V. Hurd to help people discover their purpose in life through Jesus Christ. Having served for 15 years as an associate pastor under Pastor David Emigh, Pastor Greg brought a wealth of experience and passion for empowering others. God gave the word for the church to be a people-building place, enabling individuals to find their destiny through Christ Jesus. Our goal as a church is to build and train people to reign in Christ, creating an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit can move freely and equipping people to walk in their God-given purpose and make a lasting impact for His kingdom.

What We Believe
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the foundation of our faith and the center of all we do. We believe that He alone reconciles humanity to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, sacrificed Himself on the cross in our place, and rose again, demonstrating His victory over sin and death. Through His resurrection, He empowers us for life. We affirm that Jesus Christ will return as He has promised.
The Trinity
We believe in one eternal God, the Creator of all things, who exists in three distinct Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is infinitely loving, completely holy, and sovereign over all.
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. It is accurate, authoritative, and relevant to our daily lives, providing guidance, wisdom, and truth.
The Separation
We believe that sin has separated humanity from God and His divine purpose for our lives. Without redemption, we remain estranged from His presence.
The Reconciliation
We believe that salvation and a new beginning with God are available to all who repent of their sins, place their faith in Jesus Christ, and commit to His will. Through Him, we receive forgiveness, restoration, and eternal life.

Pastors Greg and Karen Hurd are the founding pastors of Lake Church, which they established in 2007 with a vision to help people discover their purpose in Christ. With over 15 years of ministry experience, Pastor Greg has a passion for empowering others to find their gifts and fulfill God’s calling. Together, they lead with a commitment to creating a church where the Holy Spirit moves freely, equipping believers to walk in their God-given purpose and make an impact for His kingdom.
Kevin Varnell
Associate Pastor
Pastor Kevin serves as our Associate Pastor, Worship Pastor, and oversees the Men's ministry at Lake Church. He plays a key role in helping with various ministries and fostering spiritual growth within the church. In addition to his ministry roles, Pastor Kevin is also the president of Treign Bible College, where he works to equip and train the next generation of leaders.
Rebecca Davis
Executive Pastor
Rebecca Davis serves as our Executive Pastor and Business Administrator, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the church and ensuring all functions run efficiently and effectively. Her organizational skills and leadership are key in supporting the church's mission. In addition to her administrative role, Pastor Rebecca also leads our Women’s Ministry, where she is dedicated to uplifting, empowering, and encouraging women to grow in their faith, discover their purpose, and live out their God-given calling.
Bob Haase
Missions Pastor
Pastor Bob Haase is dedicated to overseeing all the missions that Lake Church supports, ensuring that we are making a meaningful impact both locally and globally. He works closely with mission partners and volunteers, guiding efforts to reach those in need and spread the love of Christ. With a heart for outreach and service, Pastor Bob plays a vital role in helping the church fulfill its calling to be a light in the community and around the world.
Matthew Myers
Treign Kids Pastor
Matthew Myers is passionate about leading our Children’s Ministry, where he provides a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children to learn about Jesus and grow in their faith. His leadership focuses on building a strong spiritual foundation for the next generation, helping children discover God’s love, and equipping them to live out their faith with confidence. Through creative lessons, activities, and support, Pastor Matthew ensures that every child at Lake Church has the opportunity to experience the love of Christ and develop a lasting relationship with Him.
Trevor Owen
Area 51 Youth Pastor
Trevor Owen is the passionate leader of our Area 51 Youth Ministry, where he provides guidance, mentorship, and opportunities for the next generation to grow in their faith. Through dynamic teaching, fun activities, and strong relationships, Pastor Trevor is dedicated to helping youth connect with Christ and build a lasting foundation in their walk with God.
